June: Monthly Update

I can't believe it's already July...even more unbelievable is the fact that the temperature here in Western Washington is supposed to reach into the low 90's today. Practically unheard of until after the 4th of July around here.

June was a good month. I had a lot of time to relax and recoup from the stress of the last couple of quarters. There's not a whole lot to report, but here's what I was up to last month.

Crochet:
Sewing:
  • I made this bag from Very Purple Person...only I think I made my darts a little too big because my bag came out quite a bit shorter than expected. It's still cute though.

New Things:
  • I baked pretzels from scratch. Delicious!
  • I went to Metropolitan Market for the first time - love!
  • We went to the Taste of Tacoma this past weekend. We got there early, walked around, ate and left before most the people showed up. It was awesome!
  • We figured out how to clean our microfiber sofas. The whole rubbing alcohol thing just wasn't doing it for our massively water marked couch (thanks to Elijah baby drool and leaky sippy cups). A lady at the store suggested to James that we try ammonia. We mixed it with water at a 7:1 ratio, and after lots of scrubbing, we have couches that look almost as good as new! Such a relief!
Elijah and I have also had a couple play dates each week. We are truly enjoying our time off from the "go-go-go" of the school year. We still "go-go-go" a lot, but now it's mostly fun stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing what July brings with it. Although, I would appreciate if we could avoid the 90 degree weather...at least until we get our AC unit recharged.

Have a safe and fun 4th of July!
